What should have been a two week visit wound up being a one year stay as Bettie nursed our son back to health. After one year and multiple surgeries, our son came out with a clean bill of health and he went back to work for the United States Army. This video contains pictures of Bettie's time in San Antonio and the many friends she made while she was there.
Our son, Sgt. Jon Walden died while in service a little over three years ago, not in Iraq or Afghanistan but stateside. Yet his mom and I could be no prouder of his service and his contribution to the country he loved. His years of service were cut short but for him it was a lifetime (12/12/84 - 5/14/2014).
